Program Director - Dr. Li

Coach (Dr.) Li founded Houston Tiger youth basketball program in 2023 and is the head coach of Tiger 2028 travel team.

A double domer (PhD/MS) from the University of Notre Dame Coach Li has rich experience practicing with UND's Women's basketball team in early 2000s. He played with school B team at Tsinghua University during his graduate school (1999 - 2002).

Coach Li also built an Asian adult basketball team (UnknownX) and led his team to 2024 Texas Asian Basketball Semifinals.

With 8+ years of youth basketball coaching and 35+ years of basketball experience Dr. Li utilized his scientific expertise in sports analytics and AI for efficient player/team performance evaluation and improvement. With his unique training & coaching philosophy and advanced basketball analytics tools Houston Tiger youth basketball teams are able to progress tremendously with various achievements although the program often doesn't have enough resources to recruit super talent like other programs.

Coach Nevin is a proficient coach and trainer familiar with creating environments conducive to player learning and development. A collaborative and hardworking leader with expertise in transforming mediocre athletes into greatness. He's known for using his college championship experience to draw out hidden talents in athletes. A driven and high-achiever with an award-winning career history in sports. He's passionate about mentoring junior athletes to build sustainable training habits, supporting healthy lifestyles.

He trained 2 NBA athletes Chris Boucher (Toronto Raptors), Kenrich Williams (New Orleans Pelicans).

Spring High School
• Team was 30-8 his junior campaign.
• A top-40 prospect in the state of Texas according to Texashoops.com, as well as a top-10 prospect within the city of Houston according to RCSSports.com.
• As a sophomore, he averaged 14 points, six rebounds and four assists, where his team finished 25-10.
• Preseason All-North Houston as a senior.
• Played for same Houston Lynx AAU program that produced Emeka Okafor and former Bluejay Darryl Ashford.
• Coached in high school by Chris Bailes.
• Chose Creighton over offers from Wichita State, Bradley, Pepperdine, Boston College and South Alabama.
